Default Question about dvd protector sleeves

Has anyone used these and do they actually work?

While in Walmart today I saw on the shelf, these little dvd sleeves that you put on the dvd and they stay on them when you play them.view them etc. Even is supposed to work for video games. It keeps them from ever being scratched. They were in packs of 5 for 5.00 or 50 for 35.00

Has anyone used these before and do they really work? I'm thinking they would be great for video games especially as my kids are rough on them and always get them scratched up.

Hopefully a generic version will arrive on the market and these
will drop down in price. 70 cents per isn't too bad for your really
really important discs (DVD games discs and very valuable dvd's)
but for an entire collection, it's obvious that the costs would end up
being prohibitive

Wow thanks for the info. I'm gonna pick some up and try them. Especially for the xbox and ps2 games. Those 50.00 games are way to expensive to have scratched up. I'd rather pay the extra 1.00 for the skins to cover them. I was just leary they wouldnt play with the skins on them but now will go get some. thanks again for the info!
