I've been watching The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air lately, and that show had many guest stars.
Will & Grace has had plenty. The Practice had their fair share. Ally McBeal had some good guest stars. Barry White's musical guest appearance was great. |

at this point, the show should be "Will & Grace & (fill in the blank, whoever the major guest star this week is)" because it's been done so much.
I agree with Ally McBeal, but I think the constant guest stars ended up killing the show because episodes were more about Jon Bon Jovi and Matthew Perry than the actual characters you watched the show for in the shows last two seasons IMO. |

Friends never went as over the top with guests as Will And Grace has though. I notice that Friends really cut down on guest stars in the final season because they wanted more time spent with the characters you knew and loved and less with "look, it's Susan Sarandon!!!". I know Christina Applegate returned in the last season but she was Rachel's sister on it, as well as some of the other stars who appeared in the last year

I think THE SIMPSONS has had more guest stars than anybody (with the possible exception of GUNSMOKE).

Sabrina, the Teenage Witch had a good share of guest stars, especially in its last season to boost ratings.

Yeah, I really don't think any television show's number of guest stars even came close to matching the number of guest stars that appeared in Love Boat, and they were pretty much all notable. Seinfeld also had its fair share of supporting characters like Babu, Puddy, Newman, Mr. Lippman, Mr. Peterman, some of Jerry's nightclub friends, the low-talker, Susan, and so many more... Then there were the voices by Larry David and small roles played by the crew and the usual un-notable guest stars.
