Default My thoughts on the Sanford Arms

I just finished watching the Sanford Arms for the first time and I must say that it was alright. There were some things I liked and some things I didn't. First of all, Bubba seemed more stupid here than on Sanford and Son. Second Aunt Esther seemed like a cardboard cut out. It must have been easy to writer for her because everything she says was said on Sanford and Son. Same dialogue, same jokes same dress, same everything. She was also very rude to Phil and he isn't even related to her. There were some things I liked such as Phil's kids. They were funnier than Phil and some of the moments. Without them it would have been incredibly boring. Bubba was stupider like I said earlier but he was funny to. Now Phil really wasn't. The jokes on the show seemed recycled from Sanford and Son but it was good. The plots of the episodes I saw seemed pretty original which really surprised me. A lot of short lived series seem to have the same type of plots. On S&S the Sanford Arms is an apartment type of place and here it was a Hotel. That was different.

My final thoughts: If Aunt Esther had more material and Bubba was smarter, and there was more of the kids and less of Phil, I think it could have at least finished off the season. It was a nice little series, but it was nothing that could have had a future.

In the Grandparents episode Phil said that his wife died. The theme song was alright, but there was nothing special about it.

Well I mean the Girlfriend, played by Bebedrakes, she was in the opening Credits. She was barely seen in any of the episodes.

your right, I didn't even realize she was in the opening. She was only in like one scene in the episodes.

I will be receving the Pilot episode of Sanford Arms soon with Grady and Dolly in the episode. Also, Grady was in the opening credits of the Pilot episode and in the opening credits Aunt Esther was hitting him with her Purse-lol

Aunt Esther seems to like doing that a lot. Do you know if The Wheelers were related to any of them? and Is Woodrow ever on the show?

I'm really confused about Woody being on the show because in my TV Book he is listed as a cast member but he is not seen in any of the Sanford Arms eps. Now I think 8 was produced but only 4 were aired on NBC so maybe Woody was in one of those other episodes.

maybe that is what it is. Do you know if BET aired all 8 or just the four that aired?
