Wink Hostel - the greatest date movie since Titanic

one of my friends actually went to see this movie ON A DATE and both of them ended up throwing up watching this.

Anyone have plans to see it? it's Quinten Tarentino's foray into horror (he's the executive producer), so if you thought he was a sadistic bastard before... you haven't seen a thing until he gets into the slasher genre.

I personally enjoy a good horror movie but there's only so much sadism I can take, and the previews of this movie are enough to make me squirm. However, I hope if this film is successful, horror movies can go back to their natural R-rated habitat. Enough with PG-13 horror movies!!!!!!! Plus, after 2005 was loaded with horror remakes (Amityville, The Fog, House Of Wax, etc...), maybe 2006 will be the year original storylines take over again in the horror field.

Nothing against horror movie fans, but it's amazing how many people take pleasure in scaring and grossing themselves out.

I really don't wanna watch this movie cuz I HATE those kinds of films.

Hey...got a link to the trailer?

Tarantino scares me with his movies. I don't think I'll be able to watch this one.

It got good reviews.

I wonder if the reviews are because critics kiss anything Tarentino's associated with. Take his name out of the movie and I'm sure it'd be getting bomb reviews talking about how anyone who'd thing up such a movie belongs locked in a psychiatric ward... but since it's Tarentino, it's good.

I like horror movies but I just can't watch stuff like this and House Of 1000 Corpses/Devil's Rejects. I like horror that scares you, but not repels you.

Yeah, I like a good scare, not a good hurl. I think Tarentino does usually make good movies, but from the previews, I don't think I could handle this one.

How is Tarantino associated with this film again? I thought he was the director, then I found out it was someone else...some Eli guy. Stupid me.

I've been reading reviews of this film, and it is supposed to be highly disturbing and graphic. I couldn't sit through Kill Bill, so I'm certain I won't be able to watch this, even though I am a big horror movie fan!!!

Tarantino was the executive producer of the movie. Eli Roth was the one who wrote and directed it. In an interview, Roth said the reason why Tarantino was associated with this film is to get it released. Quentin, did not write or direct a single shot of the film. Tarantino, coincidentaly, is writing and directing his own horror movie called "Grind House." So far, Hostel is the #1 movie in America.

Yeah, I think he would've needed a big name like Tarantino for people to watch this movie.

what is with all the sadism in horror movies these days? I mean, there's SAW and SAW II, Rob Zombie's House Of 1000 Corpses (I watched a few minutes of this) and its sequel The Devil's Rejects, House Of Wax was also pretty sadistic (was it really needed for the bad guy to cut the girls fingertip off? I mean, he coulda just stepped on it when she stuck her finger out of the ground) and now we have Hostel, a movie that is being promoted because "this is sick and gross... and Quinten Tarentino is presenting it, so it's gonna be good"

My daughter seen this movie and she said she was disappointed. More sex scenes than horror. She anticipated being grossed out (she loves movies like that) and instead she left the movie before it finished because she was so disappointed.
