thank God for for the unedited DVD's. I don't have Hallmark but I did not realize it was not airing it until a few weeks ago. I wonder how long it has been off.

Nope, no Gilligan on cable at the moment. I remember I first got cable in 1993 and I was *so* excited to see Gilligan again on TBS. (Yes, the weird colorized versions!) I was so happy to see it, I didn't even mind. And I also got to see DOBIE GILLIS!!! Back when NickatNite showed the 50s/60s shows they used to show DG. That was so kickass. TVLand used to show GI and DG about five years ago. Unfortunately they took them off and haven't been shown since.

I know a lot of people think "What? Gilligan's Island is *so* old, why would anyone want to watch that old thing? Haven't we already seen it a millions times?" But what about those little kids like I used to be? Things are always new to everybody *some* time. Fortunately GI is available on DVD. Now if only something can be done about Dobie. . .

I have only seen one episode of Dobie Gillis when they showed it for Nick at Nites 20th marathon. It was preety good. To bad it's not on DVD yet. Chances are since they are going to release Police Squad this year, Eventually they will release. I doubt any cable channel will pick it up, but who knows.

What you saw only one Dobie episode? The one with the baby? I saw that too!
*sigh* I do post on the Dobie board but most of the time I feel like I'm talking to myself. I think compared with GI, I could relate to DG more and it was refreshing to see Bob on a show that took place in the "real world" going to school, Dobie's house/grocery, the park, etc. and having a best friend his own age and size (no offence to the Skipper of course) it's just that Dobie & Maynard were equals while the Skipper was the "boss".
