Angry I Can't Believe "Will & Grace" Did Not Win 2001 Emmy for Best Comedy...

I cannot believe "Sex and the City" beat "Will & Grace" for the Emmy for 'Best Comedy!'

"Will & Grace" should have won. I mean, if "Frasier" beat out "Will & Grace," that's a different story. But "Sex and the City?" Come on! Give me a break!

I don't know...what do you think?

I THINK WILL AND GRACE IS SOOOOO MUCH FUNNIER THAN SEX AND THE CITY. I WISH THAT SHOW WOULD JUST GO AWAY!

Talking Will and Grace are better than Carrie and the other Sex City trio

I agree that W&G should have beat out SITC for the best comedy award both at SAG and Emmys. I'll tell you why they didn't though I myself don't think it's fair. Both sets of awards unlike the people's choice, which incidently SITC won too , are awarded by guild members. The SAG awards are voted on by all members of the screen actor's guild, including those folks who work exclusively in film and those who may have done one bit part on a show and are otherwise non-celluloid actors(trices). These people each have their own reason for voting for or not a person or show they deem to be worthy. This means that if several of the SAG members who are frends of the Will and Grace creative team (dirctors, writers, actors atc..) fail to get their votes in in time these votes will not be counted. Even though the show may be supperior script wise ect.. the only people that vote in the SAG awards are its members.
I feel however that the emmy awards should really, with the exception of made for tv documentry be limited to the main networks (fox, abc, nbc and cbs), because the allowance of HBO series into the nomination process makes it near impossible for the other series to stand a chance; such as the sopranos, which took a year off last year, still got nominated in the best drama category and WON!, I think that it should have gone to the West Wing a programm that I find to be a better written, acted and less ethnically sterotypical show plus most importently in my opinion it actually created and ran new episodes that year. I am sooooo sick of Sarah Jessica Parker winning that award every stinking year, hopefully, i think this is their last year and then W&G which is renewed through 2006-7 season can finally recieve the kudos it so richly deserves.

Yeah the networks for the emmys should be limited I don't get HBO, from the looks of it Sex and The City doesn't seem like a comedy more like a drama...sitcoms should be winning best comedies.

I don't like Sex and the City either. But I don't think they should limit the award shows to just the big 4 networks(NBC, CBS, ABC,Fox) other networks like cable networks have good shows too. Like HBO's Six Feet Under, Disney's Lizzie McGuire.

But I don't get the whole Sex and the City thing. I don't find the show very funny.

I just hope at this years emmys Will and Grace beat out Sex and the City at least. That's the one show I don't think should win.
