As someone who never watched AI, I actually thought the Randy on AI was the latter for quite some time until someone told me otherwise, because it seemed kinda fitting to have a member of the most famous musical family judging a music-oriented talent contest, plus Randy neither would be as busy as Michael or Janet, nor does he carry a stigma with him the way LaToya does
