What did critics say about will and grace when the show first started. Did they think it was going to be a flop, or did htey think it had a chance?

I don't know about everyone but I believe that Entertainment weekly gave it a A- and said that Will and Grace and the King of Queens were the only new sitcoms worth watching that season. So EW loved the show.
