Default the years are flying too fast

I cannot believe it's already been six years since 2000. It only seems like yesterday when the Y2K pandemonium was taking place. It's kinda scary realizing that this decade is going by so quickly

I agree. I was in high school at the time...Seems like yesterday.

I mentioned this to a few people the other day. I still remember what I was doing on 12/31/1999. I watched the ABC Y2K special all day long. They covered New Year's EVERYWHERE. Australia, New Zealand, France, London, China, etc. Amazing. Later that night, my older sister and I made a run to Kmart for a couple of things. We got there at 10:30pm and we left at 11pm, with one hour left of the 90's to spare. I still think it is pretty cool that I started high school in the 90's.

I think the first time I ever stayed up to watch Dick Clark was on NYE in 1992. Before that, I would just go to bed and my parents would awaken me at midnight to let me know that it was the new year. I still remember my mom waking me up to tell me that it was 1990... Hard to believe that it was 16 years ago.

It freaks me out that 2010 is just four years away.

I was in sixth grade in 2000. I can't believe I'm graduating from high school now, six years later.

I can't believe it either. 2005 seemed to go by especially fast.

I know, I hate it too!
I'm actually not ready to become an adult in 3 years!

I have a theory.

I was born in 1978. It took approximately 150 years to get from 1978 to 1988.

It took a good ten years to get from 1988 to 1998.

Now we're depressingly close to 2008. Those years seem to have taken perhaps 30 seconds.

Clearly we are at the center of a temporal event of some sort! Time is speeding up! The ENTIRE FABRIC OF THE UNIVERSE IS COLLAPSING!

No wonder I'm so tired...

Man, tell me about it. I was just thinking the same exact thing this morning over my breakfast. It's scary.

I know...that means this decade is already over half over. I find it kinda scary that next year is 2008, and I remember 1998 almost clearly.

It's weird to think in 4 years, we'll be in 2010...

And what really scared me is that this September will be the 5-year anniversary of 9/11.

Yeah, I was just thinking the other day how time, in general, goes by so quickly:

In a few weeks, it will be the 20th anniversary of the Challenger disaster.

Next year will be the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's death.

And this year marks the 5th anniversary of 9/11.

Unfortunately, these were all very sad events.
