Default On the Buses.... the Movie

the film of the popular TV series
I think 3 films were made as spin offs from the series
I think On the Buses was the first.

The spooky thing is the films were made by Hammer Horror
and On the Buses was the biggest box office film in the UK that year
beating a Bond movie Diamonds are Forever !!
As you can see from the stills... they don t make movies like
that anymore !!

Thats right the three films were:-

On The Buses (1971) - the biggest hit of the three films.

Mutiny On The Buses (1972)

Holiday On The Buses (1973) - universally seen as the fans favourite.

You'll find out more about the films at http://www.phpbber.com/phpbb/index.p...nthebusesforum .

You are entitled to your opinion. If its so sexist then why do many members of my forum who love On The Buses happen to be women?

On The Buses - in my opinion the greatest sit-com of all-time.

Well, sexist, perhaps, but, crap? Yes this show had sexist elements but, you have to remember that the late 60s /early 70s were different times. What may seem somewhat sexist today, was only a mildly exagerated view of the male-female relationship at the time. And frankly, the mild sexual references on this show were extremely tame compared to what you see on virtually ANY sitcom today; and are even milder when compared to the sexual innuendo/images in such media as "RAP" music videos. As far as theshow being "crap" , if you dont like it, dont watch it, coffield; i'm sure they wont miss you.
ps. I always felt sorry for "Hitler" the poor old man was only trying to do his job.

It was innocent humour of the 60s/70s and I used to think that if the two lead actors (Jack and Stan) could chat up all those dolly girls there was a chance for all the guys.
I had a crush on Olive

I know alot of people that love the carry ons,ive had many an arugment with them.Although i know alot of people that dont like it because of the usement of women. Its just real cheap humour i guess.Creepy old perverts. You dont see women getting there breasts out on sitcoms today and being used like objects.I dont like hip hop or rap anyway for simular reasons!

Reread what i wrote "Hitler" is what the bus drivers called their boss, the Inspector ; it had nothing to do with you... if you had really watched the show, you'd know that!
Oh and one more thing, its against the rules to come into a show thread just to trash the show! If you dont like On the Buses, then just dont watch.

Don't wrorry about it, i felt I had to defend the show, but, mainly I was trying to warn you that you could get in trouble for going into threads trashing shows.....like that guy who went into the Roseanne thread and did what you did here, he's been banned...and that could be you if you arent careful. ( I myself think anyone should be able to give their own opinion as you did) , but, thats not how it works here, and I was just giving you a fair warning for your own good..anyway, enjoy posting Coff.
