Default Didn't Claire slap Vanessa's face?

I could swear that Claire slapped Vanessa's face in one of the last shows. But reading some of the other posts, she was only looking as if she would. Can anyone confirm this?

I think she did during "The Wretched" episode. But I'm not 100% sure.

Clair does NOT SLAP Vanessa, she just got in her face and yelled "GO TO BED!" Clair's verbal breakdowns in this show were far worse than any spanking .

i remember what i remember and as i stated i know that the reruns they show she does not slap vanessa; i do think i read someplace that they generally would shoot each episode of the show twice and then would edit a version for viewing; apparently other people also remember seeing a version of this episode where vanessa got slapped. obviously i along with these other people may have misremembered; and at some point it's not worth endlessly bantering back and forth about. i first came across this site because i wondered if anyone else recollected seeing a version of this episode where a slap was delivered and decided to google that which led me to this thread.

It's possible they only showed that once and added an alternate version for the reruns. I think I remember seeing that too but it was a long time ago and I've barely watched the show in syndication.

I watched every DVD and Vanessa was not slapped, just YELLED at up close which forced her to run up stairs. Cliff or Clair never hit any of their kids

In the Cosby reunion special which aired around 2003, Phylicia Rashad said in an interview that the Huxtable kids were never to be struck when Cliff and Claire were angry with them. They could scream and threaten physical violence but actual hitting was never to be written in the script. That was a rule the writers lived by through the show's history.

clair was mad as a mug but she just yelled at the girl she never hit her but i am sure she was thinking about hitting her lol, i think if vanessa rebel and refused to go to her room she would have most likely been slapped by her mother really hard, you dont want to get clair mad she is nothing more than a person who gets to bully people lol
