THE BEATLES cartoon series premiered on ABC, on Saturday, Sept. 25, 1965,
and was an instant hit. It racked up a 13 score (or 52 share), then unheard of
in daytime television. Voices were supplied by Paul Frees (John, George) and
Lance Percival (Paul, Ringo). Female voices were provided by Jackie Newman.
The show was produced by Al Brodax (who also produced COOL McCOOL and
the feature film "YELLOW SUBMARINE"). It took about four weeks to animate
each episode.

What did The Beatles themselves think of the show? George Harrison said, "I
always kind of liked them. They were so bad or silly they were good, if you
know what I mean. And I think the passage of time might make them more fun
now."

John Lennon echoed Harrison's statement: "You know, I still get a blast out of
watching THE BEATLES cartoons on TV."
