I've been an avid, actually you might say overly obsessed M*A*S*H fan for over 5 years now.
I'm 21 years old. As soon as I started watching M*A*S*H by myself in my early years of high school I became enraptured by the series. I would watch it every single night as a sort of tradition. I purchased a M*A*S*H book with all the story synopsis' and episode guides and I eventually took the time to record 250 out of the 255 total episodes on VHS. As soon as the DVD's started coming out I bought them like hotcakes. So now I have all 9 seasons and can't wait for the remaining two on DVD. I think my favorite episode of all time, which I just watched a minute ago on DVD, is "No Sweat". It captures the insanity of the 4077th, along with the hilarity and madness that the situation drives all the characters to like no other episode. I admit there are much more profound episodes, but this is one of the few that subtelty captures the distress, insanity, and hilarity of the M*A*S*H characters all in one episode, and my favorite characters are those that partake in seasons 6-11. So what's your favorite M*A*S*H episode of all time? |

My favorite all time is the one where Radar gives Potter the horse that the writers would later change to a girl and rename Sophie. Idiot writers!
The one where Potter had his closest friends drink a toast when his last WWI buddy died. I also loved the one where Radar and Hawkeye had their falling out after Hawkeye told him to "sow his wild oats". The one where Hawkeye starts sneezing all the time and then finds out it was because his cousin almost drowned him when he was little. |

Hawkeye sneezing, memory of boating incident - good episode. I wonder if that was influenced by the movie "Ordinary People."
Dreams episode. Practical joking episode. Movie night. |

Without a doubt my favorite episode is "Deal Me Out" from season two.
A great example of some of the rapid fire humor from the Larry Gelbart days. |

You want me to single out one??
You don't ask much, do ya?? Well, my favorite episodes are from the first three seasons - there are several of which that would fall into the category of favorites. "Sometimes You Hear The Bullet" - Great mix of comedy and drama, and the episode that would serve as the template for future episodes of this type. The first time they tried mixing the two and it worked wonderfully. "Private Charles Lamb." Great satire. Henry Blake: "I just signed a discharge for a sheep." "Tuttle." The earliest sign of Larry Gelbart's satirical genius. A man who never existed, yet everyone was convinced they knew him. Hawkeye's eulogy summed it up perfectly. "I think all of us made up Tuttle." "Abyssinia, Henry." To this day, I still get a chill up my spine when Radar walks in the O.R. at the end of the show. "The General Flipped At Dawn." An outstanding comedic performance by Harry Morgan as General Steele that also served as an unwitting audition for Col. Potter. I'm sure there's more, but you get the picture. If I had to pick one, I'd probably give "Tuttle" the nod.

For me it has to be "LIFE TIME." That for me had to be the most intense episode I had ever seen.

The one with Asian-American actress Virginia Lee ( yummy to the max ) as a "moose" ( a servant girl , from the japanese musume< means girl or daughter ) who is convinced to make a better life for herself after Peirce wins her in a fixed poker game...."Yes! And i am very beautiful!" i always seem to miss this ep when the early shows come back around though :S

A lot of good eps. have been named in this thread. My faves would prob. be "Movie Tonight" ("Oh, I don't want no more of Army life...Gee, mom, I wanna go home!" hehe), and "Tuttle." Oh, and I also love the one where they have their own version of the Olympics.
