I love Wally and all, but i can't help but notice that he's always looking in the mirror and combing his hair. Of course, he had to know how gorgeous he was, but it seems out of character with how modest he was in general. Thoughts?

No, I don't think so; no more than the average teenager. I think most kids at
that age are starting to pay more attention to their appearance, and good grooming is part of that. That's all. |

Wally probably did not think of himself as being 'gorgeous'... if he did, it seems that he would have been a lot more sure of himself around the girls... but he was usually pretty shy and modest, especially when first meeting a girl. He also did not handle compliments from girls very well, and seemed embarrassed any time a girl would say something nice to him...
He was fine at parties where he knew everyone, but he seemed just as insecure about his looks as any teenager would be... plus, combing his hair by the mirror gave him something to do while he was talking to Beaver. If he wasn't insecure about his looks, he would never have purchased that contraption to fix his 'pug-nose'. Eddie, on the other hand was, of course, very sure of himself around the ladies... he never would have spent money on a device to improve his looks, because he thought there was no room for improvement. |

Tweety, that's exactly my point. Wally always is so shy and modest, it just seems odd to me that he's always looking in the mirror. He doesn't look unhappy when he looks either. He seems very happy with what's looking back at him. That's why I was wondering
