Default Question About the Winoka Episodes?/HallmarkChannel

Guys,

How many Winoka episodes are there? I ask this because The Hallmark Channel seems to play them out of sequence all the time! I believe yesterday, they showed "The Man Inside" (the Winoka episode where Laura makes a joke about an overweight man.) Then the next one was... Boom! They are back home and Charles gets that calf for Albert, and Laura runs away because she feels Albert is getting all his attention. What is the CORRECT ORDER of the Winoka episodes? I seem to recall five of them. "As Long As We're Together" is a two-parter and in part two they return home from Winoka. What is the name of the next episode in the proper sequence where everyone is shocked at the conditions of the town after returning from the city? These episodes should always be played in order, otherwise the continuity makes no sense.

Thanks! There is at least one date in error at the site. They have "I'll Be Waiving As You Drive Away." listed as March of 1978 for it's original airdate, and then "As Long As We're Together listed for the next season. September of 1978. I believe that TV Guide listed "I'll Be Waiving...." for February of 1978 in thier 100 Greatest episodes. The Winoka Episodes I am sure finished in the same season, ending with "There's No Place Like Home" around March of 1978.

They wouldn't have a six month cliffhanger (March-Sept 1978) with the family still in the city begining the new Season. I am pretty sure of this, because I can recall a consistent weekly run of all the Winoka episodes during the show's original run.

You know, I grew up watching LHOTP, and i am trying to remember watching it during that season, and I am not 100 percent sure, but I do think they did start out the season with the family in the city one last time and that's when they decided to go back home. I am not sure. www.tv.com is not as good as it was when it was www.tvtome.com I don't know why they changed, but it's not the same. Gonna have to check out other sources and see when and how those seasons ended and begun.

The two-parter "I'll Be Waving as You Drive Away" was the season finale of the 1977-78 season. The two-parter "As Long as We're Together", the start of the Winoka episodes, was the season premiere of the 1978-79 season in September of 1978. The Ingalls and friends were back in Walnut Grove by November, 1978.

Answers to the Winoka question:

Season 5 - 1978

As Long as we are together Part 1

Poor economic conditions cause the Ingalls family to move closer to Mary, who is now teaching at the blind school. Laura catches an orphan, named Albert, stealing from their hotel. Charles becomes friends with Albert and invites him to Mary's birthday party.

As Long as we are together Part 2

Charles even sells his fiddle to buy Mary a gift. At the party, Mary gives her pa his fiddle back. Laura gives Mary a card. Mary is so proud of Laura writing the letter in braille.

The Winoka Warriors

A blind student feels he is useless. He is reluctant to do anything at the blind school. The student gains self-confidence when he is talked into being the center for the Winoka football team. He is able to throw Albert across the goal line during the game to score the tying touchdown for the Winoka Warriors, keeping the Warriors from losing.

The Man Inside

Amelia, a new girl that Laura meets in school, is ashamed of her very overweight father. Her father works at the blind school where Mary works. All the blind students like him a lot. They claim that they can see his love. One day, Laura and some other students from school, start making fun of the overweight person, not knowing that they were making fun of Amelia's father. Amelia's father pretends to leave town since his girl is so ashamed of him. He hides out at the blind school. When he is involved in an accident, Amelia reveals to her dad how much she loves him.

There is no place like home Part 1

Toby Noe wins a lottery of $5,000 and becomes a man of means. He buys the children a cartload of fireworks, for an annual celebration.

There is no place like home Part 2

As the Ingallses, Garveys and Olesons return to Walnut Grove they discover a town that is badly in need of repair. With a lot of hard work from everyone around them, they're able to get the town back to its old self, helping a number of people who feel they are living in a dead town, like Lars Hanson.

I hope this answers all your questions. As for why they don't show them in order, when any shows go into syndication, they never show them exactly has they played the first time.
