Default Sony: Police Woman Season 1. What best describes how you feel?

A)Whether or not I'm a fan, I see it as a good sign they're releasing lower profile shows. It says to me Sony plans on putting out a lot of their catalog and gives me hope that MY show will be released eventually.

B)I'm confused by this. Why Police Woman when I'm still waiting for One Day At A Time and Facts of Life? This is good, but they could do better.

C)This pisses me off. They're releasing stuff two people on the planet are interested in while there are other higher demand debuts and continuations they should be releasing. UGH!!!

a little of each, but I'll give it to B. Sony knows the demand those two shows have yet keep putting it off for lesser known shows

honestly though, when you think about it, Sony has been teasing the PW fans for a long time, so the DVD is probably more than due. They released a "Greatest Cops Shows From The 70's" set that included then-already-on-DVD episodes from Charlie's Angels and S.W.A.T. among others, while there was a Police Woman episode on there and that was it for nearly three years.

I have that release. Police Woman and The Rookies were the ones not yet released on season sets, while the S.W.A.T, Starsky & Hutch and Charlie's Angels eps eventually made it to their own season sets. Police Woman is something I thought was forgotten by Sony, so it was a total surprise to see them putting out a season set.

This and Walking Tall gives me hope that they want to make a lot of their catalog available for fans, so I'm looking at it as a positive. It would be good if they had some clear direction in terms of what titles should take priority and how often seasons should be released, but I see releases of less popular shows like Tabitha, That's My Mama, Walking Tall, etc. as a good thing. You figure there's no way that those shows would be available and something like One Day At A Time would never see the light of day. It's just not possible they'd ignore more popular shows...isn't it???

I'm ecstatic. This is the only way I'll ever get to see it again.

I voted C. I'm pissed off at Sony, but I've been pissed at them since they pulled Silver Spoons. I'm happy for fans of Police Woman (and I know there's more than two of them), but come on, not even a WORD of when higher in demand shows like Facts of Life will be released. I'm sure FOL will EVENTUALLY be released and hopefully so will SS, but I would think they should have more of a priority. I'm seriously afraid for Diffrent Strokes, what if they pull it after this season. Thankfully most of my favorite shows aren't Sony property.

I don't actually care about any of the shows mentioned, but if PW does well, then good things could happen for everyone.

Why I'm being so optimistic, I don't know...it's not my nature.

I guess, I am one of the two Police Woman fans, because I am THRILLED that this show is going to be released on DVD; my prayers have been answered!

both Pavan and Gord Lacey (TSOD) seem confident that there's going to be ODAAT and maybe FOL DVD's in 2006, so hopefully their perceptions turn out to be true. I know Sony is going to release Maude in 2006, so hopefully One Day and Facts won't be far behind, all three of those shows have a large audience and since none of them are currently being spun in frequent syndication, DVD's will do well for all of them I'm hoping.

Hopefully Sony doesn't decide FOL isn't worth it just because season 7 has a DeBarge song (which wasn't even one of their more memorable tracks, and the same track made it onto Moonlighting's DVD without a problem) which equals "music rights", The Cruisin episode in season 6 has a lot of songs in it too, but if you listen closely "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" and "Dancing Queen" are both soundalike re-recordings, which shouldn't be as expensive as if the original Righteous Brothers and Abba recordings had been featured. One Day At A Time also famously features "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" in an early episode, but since it was Valerie Bertinelli and Mackensie Phillips singing it instead of Elton John and Kiki Dee, hopefully rights to retain usage will be a bit cheaper (as long as Sony doesn't cheapen out like they did on Dawson's Creek when Katie Holmes sang a few 80's songs in an episode karaoke)

Just to clarify for anyone who might've been offended, that "two people on the planet" comment was a joke. I know that the actual number of people interested in Police Woman is closer to 6.

Or D, happy as hell this is getting released rather than POS shows like Facts of Life or One Day at a Time. Please, those shows are awful. What will people pine for next, Hello Larry? Sony has tons of better shows than those 2 abominations.
