Default The New Leave It To Beaver

Last Spring I bought the entire series on DVD from someone on Ebay. It also included the movie "Still The Beaver" It was so heartwarming. It's certainly not as good as the original, but it was worth a watch.

I've been away from this board for a long time. I'm so glad to be back.

First, welcome back. I never saw the series THE NEW LEAVE IT TO BEAVER,
but I also bought a DVD copy of the 1983 reunion movie "STILL THE BEAVER" (which also served, more or less, as a pilot for the new series). I had also seen the TV-movie when it was first aired. It was very enjoyable, and I was glad they included the late Hugh Beaumont in the flashbacks. It's just too bad they didn't make the reunion movie a few years earlier when he was still alive. And I never figured out why they replaced the original actor who played Whitey with Ed Begley, Jr. Did something happen to Stanley Fafara? (I know he died just two years ago, at age 64.)

I loved The New Leave It To Beaver. I sadly never got to watch Still the Beaver, the pilot that launched the new show. I wanted to see it cause of the Ward flashbacks.

I have never seen any of them. How could I get a set? 610-776-7243 Jim D. Sr.

Even if they had made it a few years earlier, Hugh Beaumont would have been unable to participate as he had been incapacitated by a stroke.

Hi frani, welcome back! Hey, how did they write Ward's death in the new shows? In other words, what did they say was the cause of Ward's death if they did? I just can't see a show without him.

I don't think they explained how he died, but they did show flashbacks to the funeral on a rainy day with June, Wally and Beaver walking hand in hand with an umbrella. The grave marker said he died in 1977, but in real life, he died in 1982.

Well, I know Hugh died in 1982. The Ward character probably died in 1977 just as it says on the stone. Thanks for the info.
