I didn't watch this Monday night, but I checked it out last night and got into it. Howie Mandel hosting Deal or No Deal. All it is was a guessing and gambling game. There weren't any questions involved, so I guess you don't have to be real smart, just logical, and lucky. It's similar to Let's Make A Deal, except it's all money and no funny looking costumes. I liked it.

I watched about fifteen minutes of the first episode, then got bored with it and turned the channel! I'm not a big game show fan, however, so it takes something very exciting to capture my interest!

I watched a couple of episodes and I think Deal or No Deal is a cross between Let's Make a Deal and The New Treasure Hunt, two game shows based entirely on luck and gut instinct. This show has the potential to be a hit because it relies heavily on two important elements for a successful game show, drama and suspense. Howie Mandel is one of the few standup comedians who can handle a game show well. He doesn't upstage the game.

This show is great. Howie is a good host. They are having new contestant calls so it is sure this show will come back sometime.

Exactly, no silly questions and no stupid stunts to do to win the money. It's based on logic, a great sense of timing and really intensifying. I think on this show, it makes it more difficult to win the $1 million top prize. It's a huge hit for NBC and if they roll it out in several occasions over the course of a year, DoND may be around awhile! BTW, for those who missed the premiere week episodes (Dec. 19-23), they will replay on CNBC all this week (Dec. 26-30) at 5:00pm and 8:00pm (PT)-8:00pm and 11:00pm (ET). I heard a new batch of shows will roll out in March 2006 so stay tuned.

I can sort of say I'm hooked too. I mean, I kind of miss it not being there for me to turn on this week after watching it Tuesday through Friday of last week. But at the same time, I can see it as a show I'd get tired of quickly if it's on too much. I'll be looking forward to the new episodes though. And I like Howie Mandel as host. He used to be so goofy back in the day. |

I agree... which is why I think it should be a once a week deal(POSSIBLY more during Sweeps, but only during Sweeps). I know what will happen though, it'll end up airing 4-5 times a week and get old like Millionaire did. I hope they don't do that though...

I don't know...I watched it once and it kinda just got exciting towards the last ten minutes. I prefer Howie as a tv host like when he had his short-lived talk show. I expect to laugh when I watch Howie Mandel and I guess that's why I can't get into it.

I like this show, but I wish they would have more contestants during each episode. It seems like they drag each contestant out way too much.

I actually enjoy this show, I think it's exciting. Can't wait for next week, I'm ACTUALLY looking forward to something in March (I don't like March too much, too long).
