I have know people with bipolar and when they forget what they take they go crazy. Some people dont want to be put in a label like mental disorder, or drug abuser, or anything like that. I have suffered from depression for a longtime. now it's better been taking meds for it. Now I have type 2 diabetes, I just hate being labeld. I know what I have got and the so called dr's knows it's just between me and the dr. Anyways the point is the dr or persons who are resposable for people meds need to read the directions. To make a long story short when people have bi polar, don't tease them. Just help them if they need help. Even depression can be very hard at times, I know when I got it I was just like a Zombie. One dr said you have something more something, or you have a lot something wrong with you, Based on your IQ Forget that I am fine, and taking care of my self. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I know someone with bi-polar disorder, and I know how devastating it can be for everyone involved.

Oh my God, I forgot to take my meds one day and ended up in the ER under a suicide watch the next day (even though I had absolutely no intention of knocking myself off!) but my point is, things are really scary for me when I forget to take my meds.

I suffer from depression and borderline disoter. I don't take meds for it (which i should) because I'm afarid to go to my parents and tell them about it. I can picture what my mom would say. "What have you got to be depressed about? What do you do that takes so much of a toll on you?? Your just a chilld,You don't know anything!" I'm depressed probably because of my mother. She's always saying degrating **** to me. She yells at me all the time. I really don't have a life because of her. She never lets me go out and do anything. I've tryed to run away but it didn't work. She called my dad and he came and found me crying by some trees. No one really wants to know why I'm so sad all the time. I'm always looking for ways to cheer myself up (part of the reason why I joined SO).
I have a backup plan for when it gets too bad. I haven't had to go there yet but I kind of have a feeling my mom is going to kick me out of my house soon. But I'll just call them and they'll come get me.I don't know why they label depression as a diesese. I mean,I don't have growths coming out of my head. It's not a disese and I hate it when people call it that.Because Thats not how I feel....

Meh.

I'm assuming that you mean Borderline Personality Disorder? If you did a self-diagnoses of that, then I'd really wait for a doctor to diagnose you. That disorder is a VERY tricky thing to self-diagnose. It's very complicated. Plus, you're only 14 years old. Psychiatrists are supposed to wait until you're at least 18 to diagnose you with BPD, because that's when they can truly tell if you have it or not. One of my doctors thinks I might have it, but the thing is, the disorder can also be confused with other disorders and normal teenage feelings- that's why they have to wait so long to diagnose it, they have to wait until you're developed. In some states, it's also illegal to diagnose you if you're under 18.

I am postitive I have it. These are not normal feelings for someone my age to have. It's not normal.

Meh.You would just have to be me to know...

oh f-ck, i tried to quit paxil cold turkey three years ago without knowing how dangerous it was and i cried and wanted to kill myself so badly the whole day. no matter where i was or what i was doing i perceived everything in such sorrowful ways and i could not stop the tears from flowing. it was bad, i took paxil the next day and i was better, and shortly after that i weaned off of it.

depression is all i know. i don't even notice it, i'm not used to being happy.

Oh holy ****...I ****ing HATE when people say that! Like the only reasons people should be depressed is because they got a bad grade, or had a fight with their boyfriend. **** THAT. That's just sadness. Argh...just because you look happy doesn't mean you are...and if the only thing you're "depressed" about is superficial crap that goes away the next day, then you're not depressed and don't even ****ing act like you are.

If you've ever wanted to kill yourself over someone who was never really a friend to you, even months after the fact, or you go along seeming happy, and then you think of something and you just want to break down and cry right there, then you can talk to me about being depressed. Until then, stop ****ing whining.

Sorry...I sort of went off there. I just get mad at people who don't understand mood disorders.

I'm telling you... I took a psychology course at a local state college and we focused mainly on the DMV-IV. Don't diagnose yourself, it can lead to trouble. Just wait for a professional.
