PARKER: 'SATC COULDN'T COMPETE WITH DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES'
SARAH JESSICA PARKER is grateful her US show SEX AND THE CITY ended when it did in February 2004 - because it would have been crushed in the ratings war by successor DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, which premiered eight months later. Despite her programme's colossal success, Parker insists the ABC show about the racy happenings along Wysteria Lane has become a bigger and better network draw. She tells British magazine Cosmopolitan, "SATC would never have been able to compete with them. We would have been squashed by them, so the timing turned out to be lucky." |
