Well a friend of mine from another UM board found out some info for me and sad to say I believe Bill Wacker has died.
I wasn't able to 100% confirm this but doing some public records searching a William L. Wacker from Stark County, Ohio (the county mentioned in the UM segment) was born on 3/12/20and died on 7/9/99. He would have been 79 when he died and that would have been around the right age as Bill Wacker plus being from the same county seems like a pretty strong likelihood that it's him. As far as I can ascertain Dorothy is still alive. I've checked some obituary websites and they want you to pay to access any information. I also tried to check on the CantonRep (the newspaper nearest the town of Massillon where they apparently were from) and as a matter of dumb luck I guess their archives begin in 8/99 just weeks after Mr. Wacker died so I wasn't able to find his obituary. Anyway I thought I'd just share with you guys that sad piece of news about the case. If anyone has any more luck in finding an obituary (or any other info) on him please post.

I agree with Opal, very tacky comment. So if you're convinced that Bill Wacker was responsible tell me how was he able to beat on his own house while simultaneously sitting in his camper (with two witnesses I might add) as well as family members parked across the street their sole purpose being to watch the house?

1. I thought the Wackers lived in Waco, Ohio.
2. Massillon (where I live) has its own fishwrapper... I mean newspaper: The Independent. 3. Many people believe the same thing AKook does. |

Ouphe, I certainly didn't think you came across as arrogant. The only way I came up with that name was doing a records search and it had that city listed by his name so you may definitely be right that they're from that other town.
Did you get a chance to speak with your relative who is a retired police detective from Canton about this case? |

The case was talked about a lot around here about ten years ago, but now it seems nobody knows anything. My wife and many other women were understandably concerned about it. Truly weird how such an obnoxious case of harrassment seems to have just dropped off the map. ![]() BTW, where is the other UM message board you heard about? I'd like to check it out. |

Thanks for the info ouphe. Well I'm not sure if it did just drop off the map....thats why we're all interested in knowing if the harassment continued on for years after the UM broadcast. I wonder if any worthwhile info was called into the telecenter after it aired.
Here's the other UM message board on IMDB: http://imdb.com/title/tt0094574/board/threads/ |

I did a quick search and came up with a William L. Wacker and a Dorothy J. Wacker living in Massillon, Ohio. They even gave the street name and number.

Very interesting Barbs. Do you know how current that info is? Maybe Bill did pass away in 1999 as the Social Security Death Index said but Dorothy is still living there. What address did they give?

I think the info is pretty current. The address for them is 10271 Wooster Street in Massillon, OH. Says he was born in March of 1920 and Dorothy was born in April of 1928. Sounds about right to me.
