Guys,

I don't know what it is....but do you think they could make some of these DVD's/CD Rom's a little easier to open!!!??? I got a DVD yesterday and had to use a knife to cut open the shrinkwrap. Well, I inadvertently tore part of the paper on the casing and I got little knife cuts on the box. Tried to tape them with Scotch tape The DVD is just fine. Than you have to remove the "Security Protection Enclosed" stickers. WTF are those anyway? Struggling and struggling with my nails trying to get three stickers off the box. Than I removed the 4-5 pieces of Scotch Tape because it just looks like crap on the case. I have heard of secure packaging, but this is riddiculous. I could watch a three hour movie on cable in the time that it takes to get the wrapping off and box open.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Those security stickers are annoying.

This is one of my pet peeves. I mean, I realize that the manufacturers have to plan for shoplifters, but it's like trying to break into Fort Knox to get one of those things open!!!

How come DVD's don't have a chapter listing sheet in the inside of the box anymore?

Probably because they spend too much money on their hermetically sealed packaging.

You know this is interesting...i know what you mean. A long time ago, I worked part-time at a music store and had to open CD's almost all day long for one reason or another. I found that sliding it in a downward motion against a counter will rip off that crazy wrap.
As for DVD's, man, just the other day I bought a DVD and it's still in the wrap because I don't want to go to the hassle of trying to get that crap off!!! When I am in the mood I will open it.
I feel sorry for older people, or people with arthritis or something that makes opening things so very hard for them. As I am struggling to open DVD's and other items, I just wonder how those people do it.

I noticed that a lot of movies on DVD come in cardboard boxes now, so you have to take the box out and there you have the DVD case.

i know what all of you mean i got a few dvd sets for my last birthday and it took so long to get them open i thought it would be time for my next birthday before i got all the dvds open

Now For Real Punishment:

I asked for The Munsters Season 2 for Christmas! This is the one that Uniersal made where the DVD's slide in and out of a cheap plastic overlay of Herman Munster's head. BUT. I am NOT going through that! Someone is gonna help me get all three disks out and I am gonna store them in some clear DVD cases, instead of Herman's Head if I get the disks.
