Default I am starting to watch Friends for the first time ever

And wow, I think it is a great show. I DVR'D some episodes. Very good show in my opinion. What sucks though, is that If I just DVR them, I am going to see them out of order. This seems like the kind of show you need to see in order, adleast a little bit. Sometimes you can get the seasons cheap, on sale online, or in a store. Should I pick all 10 up sooner or later? Will I only cling onto this show more once I own them?

Hey, that's funny, I thought I was the only living soul on earth who only started to watch the show once it was over.

If you own one set of dvd's, you'll definately get clinged more and more. It is however indeed the kind of show you want to watch in chronological order to fully get all the jokes and storylines. Often jokes are about the character's personality's or past history, so it comes in handy to know that history. Just start with season 1 (one of the best imo)... and have fun!

I've seen all seasons except for season 7 and enjoyed it very much (especially the first 5 seasons).

Yes you definately have to watch them in order. It all links and you will be asking yourself 'why did he/she say that?' e.g 'We were on a break!'

I didn't start liking the show until midway through season 10. I have bought all the dvd's and have enjoyed watching them in order. I have also watched them several times and I have gotten alot of use out of them. It would be hard not watching them in order. One thing I like about the show is that it's a sitcom but it also has a lot of long term plots.

Your luck that you still have a lot of new episodes to watch. I watched my last new episode over christmas break.

From not watching them in the exact order I found that it's annoying to know information that you shouldn't know yet.

When Friends was really popular, I never watched it. And I'd always say it was overrated even though I hadn't seen one episode.

Then one of my tv channels were playing a marathon one day and nothing else was on, so I watched a few episodes and then just kept watching it. And I didn't even particularly like Jennifer Aniston either until I saw her as Rachel.. now I'm a fan.

I cant believe what I was really missing and dissing all those years!

I've been getting the dvds since they've been released and I finally got caught up and finished watching the entire series. I can't believe I have the entire series and seen every episode. It just hit me. I watched the finale again yesterday and I still cry everytime. I can't watch it and not cry. I've yet to do it.
