I didn't even know Paul Winchell died past year... And Hamilton Camp, is that the same Hamilton Camp that provied the voice for Fenton Crackshell in 'Duck Tales'?

2005 has been a sad year for comic-fans, like me. Not only did Will Eisner pass away, but also Donald Duck-comic artists Daniel Branca (Argentina) and Romano Scarpa (Italy), who were both very popular in Europe. (Also, Dutcj comic artist Marten Toonder, one of Holland's 'founding fathers' of comics, has passed away.)

I thought I heard something about Hamilton Camp dyign this year, but I wasn't sure. . . . what a loss! He was a trememdously talented entertainer, and Tommy Smothers (Camp was a semi-regular on "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour") once said he could have been a great star if not for his (lack of) height!

That's sad Shirley Goodman died. I always loved "Let The Goodtimes Roll"

Paul Winchell was also an inventor who held 30 patents. One of his early
inventions was the first artificial heart, which was donated to the University of Utah. Dr. Robert Jarvik and other researchers at the university went on to build an artificial heart, which was implanted into patients after 1982.

James Doohan who played Scotty on the original Star Trek series and in seven of the feature films, Brock Peters who played Admiral Cartwright in Star Trek IV and VI and Joseph Sisko on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Teresa Wright who played Charlie in the Hitchcock classic Shadow of a Doubt all passed away this year.

I'm amazed so many have gone this year. So many of my own personal favorites. The last two surviving members of my favorite film, The Best Years of Our Lives went this year: Virginia Mayo and Teresa Wright.

I didn't know Stephen Elliot & Geraldine Fitzgerald died this year! That's two people from Arthur - I think Liza's the only one left now

Sir John Mills and his widow both died, so Hayley Mills lost both her parents this year.

Oh, and two former hubbies of Hollywood legends: Prince Rainier (Grace Kelly's widower) and Sid Luft (who was married to Judy Garland)

Two great TV stars: Bob "Gilligan" Denver and Don "Maxwell Smart" Adams, Anne Bancroft, Sandra Dee, Eddie Albert...
