Question Did anyone watch the E! True Hollywood Story?

What did you think about it? Likes/Dislikes?

'Sure did. Not being a fan of the show, it changed my mind. I liked the parts in which they mentioned the controversy surrounding the show before it aired (though when you think about it, what show hasn't?) My favorite part of the documentary was rather insignificant compared to the many other topics they covered, but I found it interesting: How they chose the theme song. Having watched a few episodes on Nick at Nite (My mother likes the show) I couldn't believe they were considering using the first theme (forgot the song title and artist).

I found it interesting but my dislike is that they didn't interview Robert Hegyes.
Other than that, I liked it.

Epstein: I refuse to speak on the grounds it may incinerate me.

Squiggy: We wanna be
like Ginger Rogers.
Lenny: And Fred Upstairs.

Jessica: Did the Devil make Chester disappear?
Mary: No, fear made Chester disappear.

I liked it. It was very cool to hear DION's unreleased theme song for the show. Too bad the documentary did not discuss more about John Sylvester White. They hardly mentioned him and I would have liked to find out more about him.

I actually recorded that episode on my VCR back in either 2001 or 2002...sadly, a portion of my recording--approximately the first half hour or so--ultimately got erased, but I managed to salvage the remainder of that episode.

All in all, it wasn't a terrible episode...I enjoyed the testimonials from cast members Gabriel Kaplan, Ron Palillo, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Marcia Strassman, Stephen Shortridge, Debralee Scott, Helaine Lembeck, Irene Arranga, and Ellen Travolta, as well as an interview with co-creator Alan Sacks. As one of the posters (luvinjuan1980) lamented in a previous comment above, it would've been terrific to see Robert "Epstein" Hegyes throw in his two cents and reveal his thoughts about his four-season run on "Kotter" during the course of the episode.

When I watched the episode for the first time, I had no idea that Donna Mills, Farrah Fawcett, and Kate Jackson had auditioned for the role of Julie Kotter; Marcia Strassman eventually landed the part. As another poster (MurrayCarvelli) mentioned, John Sylvester White (Mr. Woodman) received scant mention throughout the episode, while Melonie Haller (Angie Grabowski) was barely discussed. The episode also focused heavily on Kaplan and Strassman's off-camera disputes with executive producer James Komack ("Chico And The Man" and "The Courtship Of Eddie's Father").

I wished they had made a movie like they did on Three's Company.
