Default Even been to a convention?

I was just wondering if anybody has ever been to a convention. Not just TV or Movie but Political Party and others. I never have been to one. I would have liked to go to the TV Land Convention in 2003 but I could not go. (Plus non of my family wanted to bring me to California )

I am going to a journalism convention in New York City in March. The actual convention is only two days long I think, but we get to be there for like one week to sightsee.

This might not really count, but I took part in Close Up (government leadership program) when I was in high school. I went to the state Close Up convention in February 2001, when I was a sophomore in HS. The next year in April 2002, during my junior year in high school, I got to go to Washington DC for one week as part of the Close Up program. That was a freaking blast. If I could do it over again, I would...I had soooo much fun.

No, I never have, but wouldn't mind, if it was something that interested me.

I went to a government leadership conference in October and I hated it.

I had fun with a few people but one of my roommates drove me crazy and I had no free time and my day started at like 6 in the morning and went till 10 at night with like no breaks and it was baaaaaaaaad.

Sounds like when I took part in Close Up. It was GRUELING. I would start my day at 5:30 or 6am and not get to my hotel room til 11 at night with only a 20 minute break before dinner. After 11 at night, I had to do my journal for school which took another hour so I wouldn't get to bed til midnight. EXHAUSTING, but fun.

No...I'm not into being participatory.

I'd go to an SO convention though.

No. I had a chance to go to a sci-fi convention at a city near mine, where I could have met John De Lancie(Q from Star Trek:TNG, only my favorite recurring character from that show) as he was going to be signing autographs there, but I talked myself out of it(That was at a time when I didn't want to try anything new), and I have regretted it ever since. Things like that don't happen very often around here, and I blew it!

Um, so no, I have never been to a convention.

I went to a Comic-Con Convention here in San Diego in 2000. My graphic arts class was showcasing a video we made. After the video was shown, I was one of the panelists but only my graphic arts teacher did the speaking. There was nothing much to say, though.

I've been to a few Comic Con conventions. I could have cared less about the comics, I was just there for the celebrity guests.
