I think maybe different states have different ads. I am in Alabama. They did ask for my zipcode.

the area you live in has everything to do with sales and prices

in general, you can find quality discs for $30 a hundred if you look around for the sales

it takes a large quantity purchase to do much better

i like to have the items delivered, and take advantage of an internet store, and thus no need to pay for the building and parking lot expenses, and that also saves sales tax

one thing i suggest is to stay away from rebates, they usualy dont get honored

Thumbs down I'm frustrated

Thus far, I haven't seen a blank DVD special where the on-line store lets me get more than one of the on-sale items. And sometimes, as with the Office Depot special above, I'm told that they're not available in my area.

When you can only get one item that's on sale, much of the time you have to order $50 or more to get the free shipping.

I wonder if I went into an actual store if they would limit these weekly specials to only one.

Yes, I'm frustrated.

in my area, the best buy never limits, but of course i seldom buy there due to their high prices

the office depot store doesnt limit, but in most cases their --on hand stock is so low it is usualy the first person there, gets them all--nice thing is they give 10% back on all purchases

if they have it in the warehouse for on line sales, they are by far the best source, commonly they have name brands at about 20 cents per disc, plus sales tax

but many times they ahve none, even right aftre midnight on sunday am, when the sales start

circuit city also doesnt limit, but they also play the stock game, plenty in the back room, none on the shelf

compuse usualy has a huge stock, but once again the sales on name brand items are very seldom

staples is a waste of time, high prices on name brands and no money off---plenty of chepo discs for $2.99 per 50 on their sales

sams club, verbatiums at $ 34 a hundred, not really a deal at all

walmart, they forgot low prices on the dvd blanks, as high as anyone on these--but they will match prices----problem is they stock 30 packs, so there is no price match in 99% of the others adds

Bingo! We only have a Walmart (mini) and K-Mart, so pickin's are slim.

Thanks for the tip on getting them to match prices. I somehow think that they'll bow out on this, though, since the nearest big town with decently priced DVDs is 90 miles away.

Our Walmart only stocks Memorex and Imations, by the way. I wonder if that's typical of Walmarts in general?

Last week, I tried to order the deals of the week at Office Depot, Office Max, Compusa, Circuit City, and none would give me more than one of the offers, if at all.

Thumbs down $4.99 shipping fee (plus tax)

Best Buy doesn't limit items, but they tack on a $4.99 shipping/handling fee (plus tax) for each item. Sort of racks up the price.

I'll quit complaining about living in a small town, now.

Default Loren posts....

Loren has been known to posts some good deals on this site, on dvd-rs and equipment too, so keep your eyes open!

also there are some yahoo groups and others u can join where other members post a lot too, even on ebay, you can usually buy dvd-rs at better than retail prices, BUT go with a known seller so u r sure u get what u pay for, not some knock off
