It never got to 65 episodes, Disney is cancelling it before it can get to 65. They have also renewed That's So Raven and Kim Possible for a Fourth season breaking the 65 episode policy.

65 Episodes = 3 Seasons

POTF is only in it's 2nd.

It has been canceled. That note on TV.com is outdated. Aly Michalka and Amy Bruckner have confirmed it although Disney hasn't made it official. There is still hope to save it. Follow the directions on the original post and you can catch up on everything that has gone on.

And in case you're wondering, most of us are happy with getting that 3rd season because once you see what Disney wants as their last episode, Back to the Future, you are gonna be upset as it is a cliffhanger.

If this info is true...then I am suprised and not surprised. Suprised because it seems that many of the season 2 episodes were revolving around mostly Phil and Keely (the ones I saw anyway) and it seems that the target audience for the show was enjoying those eps and were "Pheely" shippers. NOT surprised because personally, I thought the season 2 eps I saw were pretty boring. I always preferred the Pim/Debbie Berwick plots to the stuff with Phil and his friends, and was very disappointed when I heard that Debbie was leaving the series to be on Summerland. I never cared for the "fashoin zombies" or "Dan the Man" at all...Bradley Benjamin Farmer was funnier than them, and even he got on my nerves at times. Also, Phil's friends Seth Wosmer and Tia were funny in season 1...they're gone now. Owen and Via or whatever their names were from season 2 didn't amuse me at all. And what was up with Mr. Messerschmidt?! That guy was very creepy...not to mention his sister (played by the same actor?) with the moustache and her little boy...with the moustache! That episode was too weird/bizarre for me. Basically, I stopped watching the show after seeing a handfull of season 2 episodes...BUT if the show really is cancelled, I think I'll give season 2 another chance since we might not be getting anymore shows.

Also, I guess this means we'll never get Phil of the Future seasons on DVD. :-/ If you like this show, I suggest recording all the episodes while you can. I have all of season 1 recorded and will transer them to DVD in the future for my personal collection. (not for sale or trade, don't ask) I have a few season 2 eps and might finish the season especially after hearing of this cancellation news.

There was supposedly a POTF movie being worked on...guess that's not happening. I had no idea the ratings were so low that the show would be cancelled this early. During season 1 I thought this series was one of the top rated shows on Disney Channel? (2nd most popular behiend Raven) Then Zack and Cody started and passed Phil in the ratings, I guess. I wonder how Naturally Sadie and Life with Derek are doing?

Having the series end as a cliffhanger would definitely suck. Maybe even though the show might be cancelled, Disney would tie up the loose ends with the POTF movie that was planned? Alf was cancelled in the late 80s with a cliffhanger as the final episode, and they finished the story in a TV movie later on. Maybe the same would happen with Phil of the Future?

I Agree. Phil should be on 2 times, back to back. Disney played out every other show they had, even shows that aren't their "orignals", like Sister Sister, Smart Guy, and Boy Meets World. Why not have more phil dammit!... And i think it's time to get some other shows, like "8 Simple Rules" over to Disney as well.

I know this thread is old and the show long since cancelled, but I have to agree while I don't love any of the current crop of Disney Channel shows, this one was pretty boring. Okay, let me qualify that. I think Season 2 is boring. I didn't care about the Phil/Keely relationship and thought it was a bit cliche--I mean, after all, does every boy/girl best friendship need to end up in a romance?

Plus like as mentioned, the best part of the show for me was the Pim and Debbie interaction. The fashion zombies did nothing for the show and made it again, cliche. The mean fashion click vs. Pim.

As for getting rid of other Disney shows, well, it's cheaper to air shows already in the can then new ones that they have to produce. Even Stevens and Lizzie McGuire have long since completed production. It's not just a matter of airtime--but a matter of money.

I think part of the problem with Phil is that DC likes to cross promote. They like to release DVDS, fashion lines, video games, music and I don't think Phil lent itself to merchandising the same way a Raven or a Hannah Montana does. Plus the ratings never really quite burst onto the scene the way they did for Zack and Cody. So yeah, I can see why this got cancelled in favor of other newer DC shows.

I thought Phil of the Future was an ok show. I actually didn't like a lot of the Pim plots and I thought the Phil and Keeley stuff was better. The over all plots were to cheesy though. I never really followed the show closely but it was a lot better than shows like Kim Possible. To bad they ended it with a cliff hanger ending.
