Exclamation Everyone's Silver Spoons Video Request Answers

Hi everyone...

I would like to thank all of you who have asked for copies of my Silver Spoons tapes. If you have already sent me a message please be assured that I will contact you personally. For those of you who are wondering about getting tapes there are guidelines that I must enforce...

1 - These tapes are to be used for personal entertainment use only. They are in no way to be copied for sale. Selling episodes is illegal and I am fully licensed by the FCC.

2 - In no way will I charge someone for any episode. You will be charged for the tapes, shipping, and my time (at a tremendously discounted rate instead of the $50.00 per hour my agency clients are charged).

3 - You will have to understand and agree to the fact that there are several other people who have asked for the tapes as well and since I am not a factory getting them to you will take a great deal of time so you will be waiting a while. Considering you've already waited 15 years what's a little longer...

Fees for the complete series:

Videos: Either you supply the tapes depending on the speed you want them taped at or pay $3.00 per tape.

Shipping: $15.00 in the US if in EP mode (SP will be higher). If you live elsewhere you will need to let me know where you are.

Labor: There are 116 episodes in the series thus taking me an average of 70 hours per set. Labor charge is $3.00 per hour.

Total cost for complete series:
$252.00 US shipping included. (EP Speed using nine tapes)

$297.00 US shipping NOT included. (SP Speed using 29 tapes. Shipping will be higher as box is heavier)

I hope this will answer any questions you may have. If you would like to get ahold of me please direct messages to jm@wizard.com. Thank you again for your time and interest, I look forward to speaking with you.

Best regards,
Judy Moose

I think it would be better just to wait and record the series yourself. If you are making ANY profit off of anything connected to videotapes, YOU ARE BREAKING COPYRIGHT! And, another thing, the show is not worth $100.00, much less $250.00! So, just to let you know, you are in copyright violation by accepting anything for the copies, and even just copying is breaking copyright, so there!

I think the comments made by Sitcomsluvr were totally unfair. To say, "Tapes of Silver Spoons are not worth $100.00, much less $250.00" is absolutely ridiculous. A true Silver Spoons fan wouldn't object to paying any price.

Also, I work as a videographer, so I know how much time and effort goes into producing videotapes, and I certainly don't think Judith's fees are unreasonable. Personally, I think she deserves a big "thank you" for taking the time (in between her writing) to make up copies for those who want them.

Keep up the good work, Judy.

I do videography myself and understand your point. The rates are reasonable as well.

i admire you for all of your effort and your supreme loyalty to these televisons shows but if you are willing all of laborus work is not nessisary i used to do the same thing with other tv show but then i figured out throught a few peices of equiptment you can transfer your analog or VHS tapes on to your computer and set up a database of each individual show , i did this about 6 months ago and now i have like 5,678 episodes if various tv shows on my computer when i realized that this eqiptment started to get expensize i went to EBAY.COM it was amazing at some of the prices i could get. but seriously it is worth it if your tired of video tapes and you want a very easy solution that is it and if you still love the good old VHS i still respect you for what you do with these things because i know how hard it is to deal with those video tapes and i don't have the patients that i am sure you have, it is worth a shot GO DIGITAL, just an idea

Personally I don't think that is a fair price at ALL!!! Have you not made master copies of these 9 tapes? If you have then that greatly reduces your labor time. I have 4 tapes.. to dub those it does not require much "labor" at all.. I pop in the tapes.. hit record and let the tapes run while I sleep. That's less than 5 minutes of labor. How can you justify the hours you say it will take you?

First of all I would like to address something in defense of Judith.

I have had the pleasure of knowing her and we both have something in common: we are writing books(her about Silver Spoons, me about Knight Rider)

Now I have NBC airings of Knight Rider in superb condition. There are 90 hours of Knight Rider and I command almost 25% more then Judith does when I offer to do it for someone.

Feel special that someone has all these episodes intact. NBC is not syndication and did not hack scenes. So in the end, Judith deserves to be compensated for her time.

The next time someone gets holy and proclaims that Judith does not know what she is talking about, she is following the law and the way she is proceeding is not illegal.

Thank you Judith. I have not seen an episode of Silver Spoons in 13 years and enjoyed the show, but I love Knight Rider more lol.

Sincerly,
Richie

Personally, I think everyone who wants SS tapes should record them themselves. I mean, the cost really isn't reasonable b/c not everyone has $250 to just throw out the window(Ya'll can't say I'm now a fan cuz I love SS the most). Plus, if most(if not all) of you don't know her so how can you really trust her??? Jessica

Two quick items to go over tonight. First is to address the item above. Since it appears that I am one of the few people that actually has all 116 episodes from the original airings there have been over 600 people ask for copies of my tapes and with few exceptions I have agreed to do them with or without compensation. As for my credentials I will leave one thought: Considering that the cast and crew of this series are trusting me with their reputations in the production of both the official book and footage for NBC's 75th Anniversary Special, I think it is safe to assume that one set of tapes isn't too much of a stretch...

The other purpose of this note is to let everyone know that I will be passing the torch as it were. Between the tasks of writing this book, keeping up with the NBC project, and running my Advertising/PR/Entertainment Research agency I have found that my time is being extremely taxed. With that in mind I have found two people that will be taking over the video production of this series (both people know who you are and I will notify you as to when everything is ready to proceed). In the meantime should you have any questions or need further information I have set up a separate e-mail account solely for this topic. The new address is: silverspoonsstuff@hotmail.com. Those of you who are in the process of having tapes done, they will be completed by me before the others take over. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I can't see spending that much money on the Silver Spoons series. I could see if someone was like doing this privately, but advertising these for the public? I didn't care much for the series, so I don't know how desperate some of you are to get your hands on the series, but all of that shipping, and the postal workers these days, aren't that careful with are mail, and what if they get lost? That would be $200.00 down the drain. I would personally wait until they do something on Tv Land, because they have been adding on sitcoms.

Athena;

The reason you haven't been able to catch up with me is because I had a new DSL line put into my system and it immediately crashed my computer system. It took until the day before yesterday to get the parts put back together. Anyway, the tape is finished as are all of the rest of the set. If you are ready to take them all please let me know. Otherwise tape number three is leaving on Tuesday afternoon.
