A sitcom starring Natasha Lyonne as the 27-year-old Traylor Stephens, a single mom of two children who's life was affected by her having to grow up faster than usual young adults. Traylor had became a single mother at age sixteen when she had her daughter, Chloe (Morgan York) who's now 11 years old. Traylor stayed with her parents, Rob and Lisa (Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen) until she graduated high school and technical college.Traylor then become a single mom again for the second time at age twenty when she had her second daughter, Emma (Elle Fanning) who's now 7 years old. Four months-pregnant Traylor then moved out of her parents' home at age 20, along with Chloe, as they left Buffalo to move to Detriot to live with her current boyfriend and his father. Recently, Traylor and her boyfriend, Scott broke up resulting in Traylor and both girls moving back to Buffalo and living with her parents once again. Traylor then found a job at the local hospital as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). Traylor is befriended immediately by rookie Dr. Laurie Baxter (Najia Dajani) who is twice divorced and bitter towards all men--even though she still longs to have a family of her own someday.
