Thumbs up Dee's First Date...Too Funny! :>)

That episode of WH, during the latter portion of the second season, "Dee's First Date"...was far too funny to even describe!!! LOL
Not only did Dee tell it like it was, and handled Luther so well (especially given that he was such a TV addict), but she also made certain that Raj was "found out", concerning his so-called strategy in hooking her up with Luther so he'd be able to see the sister, Melanie!
Raj should've known MUCH better than to try & pull that mess! Dee's much smarter. (Both in common-sense intelligence, and in MOUTH...LOL)

Anyhow, when Dee said, "This is one of my favorite outfits...this dude BETTER be worth it!", that definitely sent my funnybone flying with all sorts of laughter!!! Dig it, guys & gals...

I was so annoyed with that kid, Dee sure knew how to put him in his place. That's what I loved abt her. She knew how and when (sometimes) to put people in their place.
BTW, that chick Melanie was the same actress that appeared on Good Times playing JJ's girlfriend that was reluctant in getting a divorce from her husband. Because of the stress, JJ was getting an ulcer.

Question Ah yeah...about "Melanie"! I remember the GT episode

Ah yeah! I thought that "Melanie" looked familiar, from another show--she WAS JJ's lover who was hesitant about a divorce from her husband, in GT. Great mention, Irene!
(As usual)

And oh yeah, Luther was definitely a bother and a half. I can clearly see why Dee was so quick to give him: a hard time, "whiplash" (on the front porch, when she pushed him back real hard), and the phrases "You're COOL? Well, go on HOME, Eskimo!!!", and also "I'm so happy we had this time... TOGETHER..." (singing, and then tugging an earlobe)

Dee Thomas ROCKS!!! Period!!!
That's my GIRL...You just GO, dear!

You know, when Dee did that tugging on her ear bit and sang that line, I had no idea what she was doing. It wasn't until two years later that I seen Carol Burnett do it on a rerun of the Carol Burnett show!~!

Exclamation Oh YES!!! Carol Burnett's gesture...indeed!

Oh yes! That is right about the "irony" behind Dee's earlobe-tugging gesture, and the fact that CB did the same in her own show. Totally forgot!!! LOL

Anyways, I noticed something else about that episode, "Dee's First Date", that struck me funny: when Rerun, Raj and Dwayne came into the soda shop from the football game, all cheery and fully charged!
When Raj was a part of the "last play re-creation" so he could show Shirley how the game was won, and he faked a handoff to Dwayne, he ended up running into Shirley (she was a "one-man defensive unit"), and wound up on his bony bottom.
Raj then told Shirley, "Well, ya have to understand that there were 3 guys on Defense, Shirley". Shirley then looked up to the ceiling fans and said, "Hmm. Three guys...How would you like a goalpost shoved UP your NOSE, Raj...?"
And then he and his buds sat down @ their regular table. Too funny!
Then, Luther's sister Melanie came into Rob's Place...and Raj thus pursues his "game".
