Happy Birthday to your mom!
My mom turned 53 a long time ago (26 years ago to be exact).

you're kinda lucky. My dad just turned seventy and part of me is kinda worried I'll lose him in a few years, and I honestly don't think at this point in my life that I can survive it without going off the deep end.

My parents are only 56, but I feel the same way about losing my mind.

one of the few things keeping me from totally losing it when my mom died was that my dad's still here at least... when he goes I honestly don't know what I'm going to do. It's one of the things that I really hate about being single, especially when I hate my surviving brother (other brother died a number of years ago) and my sister was diagnosed with MS a few years ago, so she's falling apart at the seems too.
