Default Why Would Michael instantly assume....

when Thelma mentioned her boyfriend's name, Keith Anderson, that he was the same guy he knew was the football player who was up for the Heissman Trophy? I can see if the boyfriend had a unique name like Leon Spinks (yes, i know, that's a boxer's name), but the name Keith Anderson is so very common, nothing unique abt it. I certainly wouldn't jump to that conclusion.

I would. Michael just wanted to know if that was the same Keith Anderson. I haven't checked but it seems like Michael said, "Keith Anderson, hey he has the same name as that Heissman Trophy winner. And Thelma said, "Michael that is HIM."

What's wrong with that?

And when you follow sports and college ball (like my husband) they can beat the Heissman Trophy winner name into the ground, Or who they think should get it. So you can hear that name over and over and over and over LOL.

Like father, like son. James did the same thing with the Leroy Jackson episode. And that's another common name.

You might think that Vince Young or Reggie Bush are common names, but football fans know who they are.

Yeha I would have asked that same question if someone mentions anyones name whether its common or not I would have said oh he has the same name as so and so. Michael Jackson is a very plain and common name but if someone came to me saying yeah Im dating Michael Jackson I would be like wow he has the same name as that famous singer.

yeah, but normally one would say I am SEEING a guy named Michael Jackson. Not say, I am seeing Michael Jackson. This last sentence implies you are seeing THEE SINGER MICHAEL JACKSON. I wouldn't say, I am seeing John Smith. One would say, I am seeing a guy named John Smith. See the difference.
