Default Original or Spinoff?

Name shows that you think their spinoff was better than the original:

Family Matters (better than Perfect Strangers)
Laverne and Shirley (better than Happy Days)
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (better than ST:TNG)

I can't think of a spinoff that I like better but I always liked both Gomer Pyle USMC & The Andy Griffith Show on an equal basis. Happy Days is another fave but Laverne & Shirley is one of the worst shows I've ever tried to watch.

Speaking of spinoffs, About 20 years ago, a local radio station did a trivia quiz every afternoon at 12:30. I was listening one day & the announcer said that the subject was tv trivia. His question was: Name the series that The Love Boat was a spinoff from? I called & told him that it was not a spinoff from any series. He told me that I was wrong & when I had the correct answer to call back. He took calls for nearly 30 minutes & finally one got it right. Does anyone here care to guess what the answer was according to this announcer?

I'm very serious, I tried in vain to convince him that it wasn't but my efforts fell on deaf ears.

I agree that DS9 is better then TNG, but TNG is still great though.

TNG is great..but it's no DS9. I'm kinda TNG'd out these days, LOL. And plus, there's no Kira or Nog on TNG!

I liked both Different Strokes and The Facts of Life, but NOTHING and I mean NOTHING beats The Facts of Life! So, I liked FOL better than DS.

LOL, that's ridiculous! I guess the guy had never watched TMTMS, or else he would've known it took place in a newsroom and not a cruise ship.

I know A LOT of people aren't going to aggree with me on this, but I think "Star Trek; Enterprise" was better than all the other TREKS.

I much prefer Facts Of Life to Diff'rent Strokes. I do think DS was great also, but FOL dwarfed it.

At this point I'd also say A Different World was a much better series than Cosby Show

I never could sit through a complete episode of Cheers, but I *love* Frasier!
