Family Resemblance? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

It's amazing to me how some families have such a strong resemblance to the point that strangers could pick family members out in a crowded room.

My family doesn't have a certain look. I look a lot like my mother. My sister took after my father's side of the family. My other sister and brother looked like they were adopted.

My nephew looks so much like my father....his grandfather. It's interesting that resemblances can skip a generation or even several. You can come across an old photo of a relative you've never met who looks like a family member today.

I have been told by different people that I look exactly like my father and then told I look exactly like my mother so who knows. As for my oldest daughter, everybody says she looks exactly like me.

Out of four kids, I'm the only one who looks more like my Dad. In fact, I get told all the time that I look just like him! I have the same dark hair, light eyes, pale skin and petite height. My three brothers, on the other hand, take after my Mom-- on the tall side, high cheekbones, fair hair, longer nose, etc.

My husband looks so much like his mother. The thing is that she's a very feminine and pretty woman, and he's very masculine looking.

I look just like my mother...

a lot of people tell me that my cousin (whose 4) looks just like me when I was that age... so who knows, maybe she'll be my little mini-me!

my sisters and I all look like my mom ( that's what people tell us) but our eye, hair and skin coloring takes after my dad's side. The weird thing is most people say I look the closest to my grandmother on my dad's side.

People say that I look exactly like my sister. People confuse us ALL the time. I think we kind of look alike, but not exactly alike. Also, my mom always gets mistaken for one of her sisters. Some people think that my mom and her sister are the same person. It's really funny.

I have people divided on who I look like.

Some people say that I look EXACTLY like my mom.

Others say I look EXACTLY like my dad.

It's odd.

it is confusing in my family, since my parents don't look too different.

most people say i look like my mother, because i have her coloring, hair, eyes, and smile. other people say i look like my mom's sister Jane, because i have a round face and wide cheekbones like her. when my mom was my age, people say she looked exactly like how i look now. like once i showed someone a picture of her at my age and they were like "OMG you have the exact same face!" a couple people have said i looked like my dad, and it might be because my thick eyebrows come from him.

my brother, on the other hand, doesn't look like any specific person. some people think he looks like my mom, others think he looks like my dad when he was that age, but many people say he looks like me. i think my brother looks like my cousins on my dad's side.

Everybody says that my 6 brothers and sisters look alike. But really, I would say that half look like my dad and the others look like Mom. In my own family my daughter and I often get mistaken for each other. It's funny seeing that I am 19 years older than she is!

But I ALWAYS accept the compliment.

My son is a mixture of both my husband and me. But he really looks more like my husband's side. In fact he has been mistaken several times for his cousin.(My husband's nephew.) They look amazingly alike!

People tell me I look EXAAAAACTLY like my dad. *shrug* I did find a picture of my dad when he was 11 and for a minute, I thought I was looking at a picture of myself

Because the resemblence when we were both 11 is AMAZING.
