Marcia went out the window to mail a letter that had to be postmarked by that day. The mail service is not 24/7 so either way, her letter would have been postmarked by the next morning. She could have mailed or deposited the letter in the mailbox in the morning.

I have always thought that episode was so touching and sad, especially when Mike reads the letter outloud and the expression on his face afterwards.

What I thought was funny was Marcia saying, "And he doesn't play golf every weekend"....

There were many other episodes that had Mike coming home from or going to play golf or talking about golf....

Notice how each kid right away called the step-parent mom/dad, without hesitation. They should have had an episode where the kids had an issue with that, or an uneasiness with it. Then slowly have them call them mom and dad.

I noticed that too, that they immediately started calling the step parent mom and dad. But there were a couple of transitional episodes in the beggining, like when Bobby thought he had an "evil step-mother."

I have a "Brady Bunch" book/story from that era - it's not a child's storybook, but an actual 150 page book aimed at teens/pre-teens. That book takes place several months after the wedding, and the kids are still calling their stepparents by their first names. I wonder if that was the original plan for the series.

Yep, except of course for that one episode where Greg decided to be hip and now by saying "Good morning, Carol; good morning, Mike!"

speaking of the kids acting like their step parents were their real paretns, in that episode in season 2 where greg sings 'clowns never laughed before'

lol carol says that he sounds good to mike, and the talent must run in the family blah blah blah it always bugs me coz he has none of here genes!

This one is kind of iffy. It was winter (snow in the mountains so they could go skiing) and it gets dark earlier, it isn't clear how late it was and some post offices have been open as late as 7 or 8 (though that would be early for the kids to be in bed!). On April 15th some post offices have been open till midnight.

It's a bit implausible but not entirely impossible.
