Default Considering Mike was an architect, it was pretty dumb for

the house to have only one bathroom for the kids...that was stuuuuuupid!

I think they actually had 3 bathrooms:

1 for the kids - the one that is attached to both the boys' and girls' room

1 that ran off the parents' bedroom

and

1 that was behind the stairs - downstairs (as noted in A Very Brady Xmas).

That was obviously added in the intervening years, it wasn't there in the original series.

I am going to have to agree with you on this one. Thoughout the series, there were a bunch of episodes in which one child had to go but there was another child already using it. If there was another bathroom downstairs, this would have been an alternative.

Cool

Just because Mike was an architect doesn't necessarily mean he designed the house. And I don't believe he did. I believe when Mike and Carol got married and combined their families they went and bought the first house they could find that was big enough for the combinrd family. (plus a housekeeper!) This would explain why they ended up with a house with so few bathrooms (and apparently no toilets!!!). So don't blame Mike on this one.

They could've at least had one bathroom for the girls and another for the boys. Logic...something that doesn't exist in sitcomland.

Yeah, that way Marcia could be taking a bath while Cindy is taking a dump in the sink!

I am afraid that I cannot agree with you on this one. Our friend Bachu just did on summery on the first season episode "To Move or Not to Move". Remember when Mr. Grossman entered the house and heard funny noises? Mr. Brady tried to rationalize the situation away by saying that the house was setteling. If you listen closely you will hear Grossman saying "you mean the house that 'you' designed and bragged about for so long is beginning to shiver its timbers"?

I doubt Mike would have known that he would have gotten 3 extra kids at short notice either when planning the house.

That's a good point. Although, I'm not sure how long Mike and Carol "dated" before they got married.

Didn't Carol, in the pilot, say something like "x # of months/years ago, I thought my life was over" (apparently referring to the end of her first marriage) or something like that? How long ago was she talking about?

I think the exact quote was, "A few years ago, I thought it was the end of the world".
