I don't think so. It would have ruined the show's premise of a close, loving and struggling family, who, despite their financial woes, managed to find humor and happiness.

I didn't like it when the Connors hit the lottery on Roseanne.

No, they only way I could accept the Evanses striking it rich is if it was the final episode. (Assuming James would've lived of course.)
