Cable prices are freaking OUTRAGEOUS!!! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

We're moving to another town(population 7,000) about 30 miles north of here in about 2 weeks and my parents found out the cable prices today.

They've got a great deal for the first 6 months and then it's absolutely ridiclous.

Cable(This is just Channels 2-77 minus the premium channels) $44.99 and cable internet $41.95 a month.

This service better be good for those prices.

Tell me about it, I'm paying for digital cable, internet and digital phone for an insane amount of money each month

it just went up this month.

I have digital cable and its over $100 a month. I also have NBA League Pass, which is an extra $189 over a period of 5 or 6 months.

Our cable/internet bill here is $62 a month... I just can't believe that it's going to be $85 a month now. If the cable internet sucks, I'm considering DSL. I've already looked into it and I got prices quite a bit lower than $42 a month

and no, I am not going back to dialup!!!

Take me out back and shoot me if I ever think about that.

I would go with satellite, but the prices will be just as bad...

That's ridiculous, some cable companies are out of control. We pay about $90.00 total and that includes digital cable with on demand and Starz and cable internet. Some areas have no competition, so the lone cable company can charge whatever they like.

Our satellite is only $70-something. We have Cinemax and locals and the most channels we could get. Plus that includes Sirius music channels for no extra cost. I love that perk.

with everything, ours averages to $186 a month. I'm going to call next week to see it I can get a cheaper package.

I only pay like 90 for digital cable, roadrunner and the HDTV package with the HD Dvr, so its not that bad, I guess.

Our cable service is included with the rent so we get 100 channels 'free'. If I wanted digital then is almost $60 a month which I find a waste with the new dvd releases. The phone company and internet DSL go together and that's almost $60 a month without calling anyone long distance.

Here=Two cable companies
There=One cable company

Yeah I don't think anyone around here has cable competition. You are lucky there.
