As I recall, exchange students are only supposed to stay a year or less, Fez has been there for 3, how can this be?

The show doesn't follow in real time. When the show started, Everyone (except for Jackie) was a junior in high school. If the show followed with every season being a year, everyone would have graduated in the second season. In cases such as Fez and the six years of high school it is best not to try to think it out logically, because there is no logical answer.

I am so glad Fez hasn't left, and I hope he never does. He is my ultimate favorite on the show!

I guess Fez has one of those extended student visas! Either that, or he secretly married an American citizen to get his green card!!!

I agree, I'm glad he hasn't left. He's great! I also love that they've accepted him and he's part of the gang.

If the show followed real time Eric would be, what, 21 now? The second episode of the first season revolved around his 17th birthday party.

I really don't mind if they stretch time a bit.
Hell, it took six or seven years for the cast of "Friends" to hit thirty.

Well when i was in high school there was a foreign exchange student there for 4 years so maybe it is in certain situations that they stay longer....

yea exchange students can stay for longer then a year...we have an exchange student that came this year and they are going to be at our school for two years
