Default Anyone else annoyed with the casting...

of Irene Cara in the episode where Rerun is set to marry her character so she can stay in the country legally? I couldn't stand her in the role then, and I still can't stand her in the role. With all the available actresses who were better suited (ethnically) to play this part, I just couldn't stand her. I really wish someone else, even a nobody would have played her character.

I didn't mind her, but her marrying rerun was stupid.

Exclamation Not bad, about Irene Cara...but...

In my honest and professional opinion, I'd have to say that I didn't mind Irene Cara being cast in that episode of WH. But the plot/story dealing with her wanting to marry Rerun (in order to become an American) could have been excluded or, better yet, creatively changed to another kind of situation/scenario.

Anyhow, changing subjects...
What do you think about them casting Greg Morris as Dwayne's Councilman father? (When Dwayne had the debate, Season 3)
If there were ever a good casting move on part of that crew/department for the show, it had to have been that. Greg Morris was awesome in that "upstanding & responsible" role.

I like him alot. I am also glad they didn't rehash another actor from Good Times to play a part on this show...it got irritating seeing actors rotate from show to show...as if there were no other black actors available...

That's exactly why they would rotated black actors because there weren't that many available and there weren't that many black actors getting pick for good roles. That's why in the 70's there were so many Blaxpoitation films, that's how a lot of black actors got work.
