How dumb was this lady to report that she receives IN CASH anything other than social security???? How stupid can one be. If it's in cash, why did she need to report it??? Was she THAT HONEST??? to hell with the system, if i get cash on the side, that $$$$ doesn't need to be reported. She needed the extra cash! Besides, I don't know anyone who needs to report that, it's not like's it welfare. Even if it was welfare, still, the fact that she would get cash on the side because SHE NEEDED IT, is something she didn't need to report.

Yeah you don't report money that you are getting under the table-lol Especially when it's no way to track it

She could have been on welfare, and back then they were all up in your business, those were the days when the welfare would come to your house unannounce.

You are so right she didn't have to report it, I know I wouldn't have reported crap. If I were her I would have been giving as many lessons as I could.

This was those stupid writing errors. If they wanted to show this poor woman living so bad she needed to eat dog food, just the fact she was only receiving a small amt would have been sufficient reason for her to have to eat dog food. They could have said she had medical bills/prescriptions, etc. that caused her to have barely any money, but to say that she reported her other income was stupid. It could have been written that she was getting ill and couldn't give lessons anymore because of her illness.

That's a good point there. One of my favorite episode and I never thought about her not having to report cash.
