I preordered it from Amazon weeks ago and received it on Nov 22 -- the day it was officially "released."
There are two editions -- a Lunch Box edition and the regular slipcase edition. There's about $14 difference between edition prices at Amazon. Go for the Lunch Box if you want a fun collectible. Go for the slipcase if you're only interested in putting the discs on your shelf. In the Lunch Box edition, there are 3 double sided DVDs tucked into a plastic "photo album" along with a few "photos" of cast members. The video and audio quality are excellent. There are about 7 episodes per disc side. The introductions to each show (which are of little consequence and are usually deleted in syndicated airings) are retained in the DVD editions. There are no special features except the pilot "It's a Small World." There are language cnhoices. There's no episode guide on the packaging nor as a independent sheet. There's no souvenir booklet, cast interviews, or other frills. This DVD set is absolutely essential to a collection of fifties sitcoms. It's a quality product. No two ways about it -- if you're "into" Beaver, this set is a must. |

Do they have the intros on the DVD's? These are narrated by Hugh Beaumont and usually start out, "When you're a small boy..." and end up, "and that's our story tonight on Leave It to Beaver!"
