Default Why does BLACK FRIDAY have to be a Top News Story every Year?

I'm so sick of my Local TV news showing crowds of people waiting to bust through TOYS R US at 6am in the morning to get a DEAL on Some dmb a$$ toy. Every damn year the same thing. This story has become so TIRED on TV NEWS

I can't stand it either. I only went to two places today. The Post Office and the barber. To me that is enough. Your riight the news is really insane about it. I have to turn it off.

Some things are just traditions!

Just as you expect to see the Macy's Parade every year, you also expect to see something on the news about people wanting to get the deals. It doesn't bother me that much, considering you usually see it on TV for like 10 seconds. It's not like there's an hour long in-depth investigation about it every year.

The local news had two idiots fighting like 2yr olds over a toy
If we can't set an example as adults, what can we expect of our children.

I was wondering the same thing... it's the exact same story every year, the only difference is usually there's some new toy or electronic device (this year being the new X Box 360) that people seemingly cannot live without! Other than that, it's just snarled traffic, crowded stores and rude and grumpy people... the same ol', same ol'...

We were talking about shopping last night and I said "Oh yeah, it's Black Friday!" and my dad stared at me. "What's Black Friday?" and I had to explain it to him, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving when everything is on sale.

The traffic at JoAnn's (crafts store) was just as bad as the other stores here in Montana. I stood in line for about 30 minutes and it went sooooooooooooooooo sloooooooooooooooooooowly.

Christmas has gotten so commercial, it's ridiculous. These days it's all about material things and what you got and what you can get. I overhear people all the time saying 'I've got to get a gift for this person, & this person...etc. I'm at the point where my gift list to people is not as big as in years past, like I don't think I need to get something for my second cousin's wife's sister!!

Did anybody hear about the people in Michigan who got trampled trying to get into Wal-mart when it reopened? It's beyond insanity. People getting hurt just so they can get a $28 DVD player!!

4 people at our local Penney's got arrested today for fighting. I don't know exactly what they were fighting over. Probably a $28 DVD player!!

I think it's big news because a lot of people want to hear about it. The viewers dictate what's shown.
