How long would it have lasted?

Not Long because Vera wasn't funny. Neither was FLo but we know why she was on her own show,.

Mel was the best character on the show. A spin-off with him wouldn't have lasted, but it would've stood a better chance than any other character. A Vera spinoff? She was an annoying twit on Alice, I can't imagine her having her own show.
