"The fall of 1981 brought the most surprising developments of all. Mork and Mindy were married, and honeymooned on Ork--which proved to be full of bizarre creatures. Shortly thereafter Mork gave birth, by ejecting a small egg
from his navel. The egg grew and grew and finally cracked open to reveal a
full-grown Jonathan Winters! Mearth, as they named their first child, weighed
225 pounds and looked middle-aged, but babbled like a baby ...
"Despite some hilarious scenes between Robin Williams and his idol Jonathan
Winters, the series was by this time losing its audience rapidly and left the
air at the end of the season." (Source: THE COMPLETE DIRECTORY TO
PRIME-TIME NETWORK & CABLE TV SHOWS)
Unfortunately, when the final episode aired, Mork and Mindy were floating
somewhere in outer space! I guess they're still out there somewhere--ABC
and Paramount never bothered to resolve that cliff-hanging ending ... unlike
NBC's ALF, who did finally return in a made-for-TV movie, "Project ALF."

that's right; they never did resolve that! I forgot about that!! But by that time, the show wasn't very good anymore, anyway.

I'm not following? Ther series left off with Mork having to go on tv and tell the world he was an alien, because he was being chased by this other alien from Neptune, I think. Always made me so sad, who'd want to be mean to such a sweet lil' alien.

No, that wasn't the final episode. They did go on TV and tell everyone about them. For a while I also thought they were considering it, but never did it. Then, when N@N was showing the show in the 90s, I saw an episode where they did. Then (I don't know how this happened, because I only saw 2 episodes from that last season) they ended up being chased through time by this guy, and the final episode was where they were in the prehistoric days, met him, and somehow dissapeared and were traveling through space. Then, I remember the last scene was where they had been turned into paintings on a stone wall. Like someone else said, though, ABC never resolved that plot.

Oh crud, i dont remember any of that. I mean, i remember going through time, but that not being where it left off. I do remember that bad guy from neptune or saturn or whatever (the guy who plays on murphy brown) being encased in plaster or something - they were on the run and at some resort for chunky people and they sprayed him with a fire extinguisher or something. then, after they go on tv it shows him breaking through whatever plastery looking stuff the fire extinguisher covered him with. i really think it left off with mork and mindy in washington dc. of course, then came that mork report episode i got rid off my tapes several years ago so i cant check

Didn't the final show end with Mindy's Apartment building blowing up? Or did a bomb go off in the apartment and then they ran from the other alien?

That happened in the 4 parter end of the series. The aliens wife was a robot and he set her as a bomb. she went to the apartment and blew up the living room, sending them on the run.
