actually, Janet's certainly had the biggest career from anyone in either Diff'rent Strokes, Good Times or Fame. A lot of people turned against her over the nipple incident but let's face it, she is one of the few true megastars in pop music and she's easily been more successful the past 15 years than her brother has been in the same time, and even though Damita Jo was a huge sales disapointment, it actually sold better than similar flops by Mariah (Glitter), Madonna (American Life), Whitney (Just Whitney), Celine (Miracle) or J. Lo (Rebirth), which shows she will certainly be able to pick back up from this album.

I remember when N@N aired DS, they really made sure to hype her episodes because at the time, Janet was having a #1 hit on the charts with ALL FOR YOU. When seasons 3, 4 and 5 come out on DVD, I think Sony would easily promote Janet's appearences in a way to boost sales to Janet's diehards. You gotta remember that Janet's music career really started in one episode of the show, in the season 4 episode with the "Afrodisiacs", where Janet also performed "The Magic Is Working", a track from her 1982 debut album.

Basically, one of Janet's first TV appearances was on Diff'rent Strokes. I think she did a pretty good job. I think the producers chose her because she could sing, and they ended up with her singing a couple times in the series. She wasn't that famous back then, and if that incident at the Superbowl never happened, lots of peoples opinions about Janet would be different.

come her next album, I think most people will have gotten over the Super Bowl thing (I never got the big deal... you'd think most of the drunk men having keg parties would LIKE seeing exposed nipple) the same way 90% of people have gotten over the whole Sex book era with Madonna.

And I used to wonder myself why her for DS. They tried to cast her everything back then. And she wasn't that good. Her acting as Charlene was stiff.

Janet actually wasn't too bad acting-wise in the movie "Poetic Justice"
