The scene is a little gross, but considering that Herman was leaving a starvation diet abruptly at strangers' Thanksgiving meal, there was no room for table manners.
The trauma of dieting. Made Herman particularly scary in this episode.

Dirtprod, this is my favorite of your colorized photos. I never got around to comment on it when you posted it previously. The detail that you put into the tablecloth and napkin is incredible.
