I have often wondered what ARCHIE would have looked like had it been produced by Hanna-Barbera. Interestingly, H-B did produce JOSIE & THE
PUSSYCATS (another Archie comic book). It was kind of strange that Archie and Sabrina (whose shows were produced by Filmation) appeared together with Josie (whose show was produced by Hanna-Barbera) in the Archie comic book ARCHIE'S TV LAUGH-OUT (although, of course, you never saw Archie and Josie on TV together). |

The Filmation voice cast Archie/reggie/various...........Dallas McKennon Sabrina/Betty/Veronica/etc. ......Jane Webb Reggie,misc......John Erwin Jughead/etc....Howard Morris Poptential 1960s Hanna-Barbera cast Archie..just about anyone doing that kind of character Betty...Janet Waldo Juggie..Howard Morris Veronica..Julie Bennett (a la "Dinky Dog"m,which also had " Josie" voicer "Jackie Joseph"), or Sherry ALberoni ("Josie" femme fetale Alexandra) Uncertain of who else would be cast.. Katy Keene never had an animated series, suposedly beucase it was nmore 40s like and also no more comics were done then..but in the 80s a new Katy Keene revival appeared and reprints frequently appeared and I think stillo do in the Archie books, digests, though KK's own disgests with biothn new and old stories stoipped in 1989-90. (I have a # of both.) That model thing of course has over 20 years been a major return explaining the later Keenes..if models had been a late 1960s phenmon (what about TWIGGY) maybe there qwould be a Keene series, but who would produce it.. |

Micky Dolenz of The Monkees would probably have been Archie because he did
a lot of voices in Hanna-Barbera shows (THE FUNKY PHANTOM, DEVLIN, BUTCH CASSIDY & THE SUNDANCE KIDS, WONDER WHEELS, THESE ARE THE DAYS) in the early seventies. |
