met and married Ray?????? He is one fugly dude!!!!!! He is not the kind of man who I can see Willona having been married to; or even dated for that matter.
I think the casting director chose an ugly man on purpose so he would be an easy person to hate for hitting on Thelma and being the same ol' bum that ruined his marriage to Willona to begin with.

Did you see that look he gave Thelma??

You knew that it was all downhill for Willona right there.

Before that part I think they made him seem like a nice enough guy who made mistakes in the past.

And she had the nerve to say that her and Ray were considering getting back together, and having kids??? We all have to admit: As ghetto as Willona was, you mean to tell me that Ray "whipped" her, making her vulnerable. I thought she was too smart for that type of game.

Exactly. More bad writing. If you notice, I think it was Thelma or Ray, can't recall, one of them referenced that Willona and Ray had been seeing each other for six weeks, right up until Ray hit on Thelma. Also, Ray said it was the first time HE AND THELMA HAD A CHANCE TO BE ALONE. So, I guess in those six weeks he never had the opportunity to 'assault' Thelma, though he must have been very eager.
I can't imagine the Willona character making such important decisions in six weeks abt her life and wanting kids. She couldn't even decide which wig to stay with!!!!

Didn't the guy that played Ray die of a drug overdose in the 80's or maybe I'm thinking about someone else? LOL, I was watching that episode & my mama walked by & said who the h*ll is that cause he is ugly? LOL..
